• Appeals for additional fertiliser for top-dressing purposes for the rationing year 1948-49 must be in the hands of the Chairman of the District Fertiliser Committee by 20th July, 1948. Appeals will be considered only on the following bases:— 1. From those farmers who have not appealed on any previous occasion, or for those properties for which no previous appeal has been lodged by either the existing or by a former occupier. 2. From those farmers who can produce documentary evidence to the effect that they have brought in out of virgin country during the 1947/48 rationing period areas which have been sown down to new grass. Appeals from returned servicemen from World War 11, and from others who acquire after the 20th-July, 1948 property for which there is no top-dressing fertiliser allocation, can be considered at any time during the rationing year. All appeals must be in writing addressed by the frrmer to the Chairman, District Fertiliser Committee, care of of Agriculture for the district in which theproperty (for which the appeal is lodged) is situated. All applicants must state the name of the vendor from whom it is desired to obtain supplies of fertiliser in the event of the appeal bhing successful. Documentary evidence in support of appeals mentioned in paragraph 2 above should consist of a copy of the invoice for the grass seed, and also signed statements from the owners or managers of two neighbouring properties to the effect that the grass seed was sown on virgin country./.
