Bowling Centre’s Meeting

Delegates from all the Bay of Plenty attended the annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Bowling Centre held in Whakatane recently. It was decided that the next Francis Cup match be played at Whakatane. An application by Tauranga for permission to hold an Easter tournament was declined after a long discussion. A set of bowl testing equipment is gradually being built up by the Centre and so far there has been a set of the proper scales, and callipers bought. A special run-way for testing is to be constructed. Mr G. Griffiths was nominated the official tester for the Centre for the coming year. The following officers were elected: Mr J. W. Wilson president, Mr W. A. Rixon vice-president, Mr W. O. Knights secretary-treasurer, Mr Torrie auditor. The executive of the Centre is to be left to the Whakatane and Taneatua clubs to decide* in the ratio of three to two. .
