WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL APPLICATION FOR SANCTION OF LOAN Notice is hereby gTven that the Whakatane Borough Council proposes at its meeting to be held on July 12, 1948, to consider a motion to apply to the Local .Government Loans Board for its sanction to the borrowing of the sum of £7,500, for the purpose of supplying and distributing electrical energy for the benefit of the Electricity Supply area comprising the Borough of Whakatane, and for such purpose to do all or any of such matters and things which the Council is empowered to do by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933 and its amendments, and the Public Works Act, 1928 and its amendments and in particular, and without limiting in any way any of the aforesaid powers, to provide, erect and construct additions and extensions to the present system of Electricity distribution and reticulation, to purchase plant, land, easement and general equipment. The term of the proposed loan to be 15 years. - The Security for the proposed loan shall be a special rate of 1 2/sths d in the £ on the unimproved value'(on'the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Whakatane. ‘ Any person having any objection to the proposed application is called upon to submit, the same in writing to the Whakatane Borough Council not later than the day preceding the said meeting.
