Overseas Production Again
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s new picture, filmed in the American zone of occupied Germany, has been titled “The Search.” The cast of the picture is headed by Montgomery Clift, Aline MacMahon, Jarmila Novotna, of the Metropolitan Opera Company, and Wendell Corey. “The Search” is the first M.G.M. feature film to be produced abroad with American stars and director since the war. It was directed by Fred Zinnemann, director of the “Seventh Cross” and produced by Lazar Wechstler, producer of “The Last Chance.”—M.G.M.
