New Zealand Will Yet Produce Great Artist
“From a country which has already produced a Katherine Mansfield in the world of letters and that genius of science, Lord Rutherford, it is certain that in the field of art a man will arise who will for ever render . the name of New Zealand famous in that sphere,” said the Minister in New Zealand for Belgium (. Armand Nihotte) at the opening of a private view of the autumn exhibition of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts. Discussing the present exhibition, M. Nihotte said that the high qualities of the artistry of the works left no doubt in his mind that the national outlook which was slowly developing in New Zealand art was a worthy one.
