TE TEKO DOG TRIALS DRAW LARGE CROWD: DOGS WORK WELL

Favoured with a beautiful day and a large crowd of spectators and competitors the Te Teko Cattle' Dog Trial’s annual meeting on the Te Teko Domain on Saturday, was a great success. Competitors in the dog event were present from Tauranga, Opotiki and Rotorua and the local district was well represented. Mr C. McKenzie was judge of the event and the standard of work was considered the highest ever seen at Te Teko. Honours went to a very popular competitor, Mr Sam James. Previous to the war he was a very keen young competitor and after spending some years as a prisoner of war his friends are very pleased indeed to see that he has once again struck winning form. Results Dog Event S. James’s Count 55 points 1, C. McMillan’s Yeoman 54pts 2, T. Garlick’s Pat 52pts 3, C. Gordon’s Scott 51pts 4. Special Prizes Doidge Cup: S. James. Dunderdale Memorial Cup: C. McMillan. E. R. Hunt Cup: S. James. M. C: Walker’s special prize for committeeman’s dog scoring most points: D. Weston’s Judd. M. Magee’s special for committeeman’s dog: J. Haslam’s Ben. D. Allan’s special for Novice with dog scoring most points: J. Dunstan and A. Orr, equal. C. Eiver’s special for dog under best command: A. Palmer.

C. Mcßride’s special for dog completing best pull: C. McMillan. Mrs T. B. Dunderdale’s special for dog completing best head and pull: T. Garlick and J. Dunstan, equal. W. Scott’s special for competitor 20 years and under gaining most points: W. Lyon. Revell Bros.’ special for competitor scoring second highest points: J. Boulcott.
