Boy Scout Activities At Edgecumbe
At the annual meeting of the Edgecumbe Scout Troop, the following officers were elected: Patron, Mr Le Lievre; chairman, Mr Anderson; committee, Mr and Mrs Plank, Messrs Peters,Conway, Vickery, Woollett; secretary, Mrs Malpas. The resignation of Mrs Ferguson was received with sincere regret. Mr Peter Fraser was elected Scoutmaster with Captain Rooney as assistant master and Miss P. Conway as Cub mistress.
Activities amongst the Scouts and Cubs have already commenced with much enthusiasm. There has been a good muster cf boys at parades. In view of the possibility of a world jamboree being held in Australia* the New-v Year, and tlie "need ‘of raising funds for general use, the Scouts, with the help of the committee are holding a Jumble Sale Stall at the Edgecumbe Domain on the King’s Birthday when anything saleable will be gratefully acknowledged. Scoutmaster Fraser has reported that the Scouts have also planned a weekend camp at Manawahe in the near future. ♦
