ISRAEL’S TRIBAL GOD

Sir, —Some economists, scientists and a long and ever-growing and indefinite list of other ists and isms glibly refer to the Almighty God and Father of us all as fhe “Tribal God of the Jews” on the same level as other historical idols described in the lines of the missionary hymn, The heathen in his blindness bows down to wood and stone. Take the influence of Israel’s Tribal God and this divine Son who came to reconcile a lost and degenerate world to Himself from our world today.. What is left? Wars No. 1 and No. 2 and the threatened No. 3 are the answer. Men who are counted wise and in their day and generation and have won high places above their fellows are fools if they say in their hearts there is no God. The Tribal God of Israel has proved His existence by keeping His word, to the Jewish race they preferred and are still preferring' the Golden Calf to the Almighty and murdered His Divine Son because He told them so. No other nation has suffered or Will suffer more for their preference of Mannon over God, whose word plainly says, “Let the heathen rage and the people imagine vain things. He that sitteth in the- Heaven’s will laugh at their calamity.” Personally, I am just an ordinary garden variety of John Bull. My prayer always has and always will be, that of the publican of old “God be merciful to me, a sinner.” Israel’s Tribal God, to me, is an unseen power than can be described as electricity installed in the heart are mind of all who feel their need of it.

The power is switched on' by the “finger of faith” or there is nothing doing, if you don’t want the light you don’t get it, because there is also the power of darkness, which was, is, and will be in direct opposition to light, because its deeds are evil. As our material world comes before the sun and causes darkness, so material Mammon comes between the souls of men and God. But Israel’s Tribal God truthfully called the Sun of Righteousness will eventually rise, with healing in His wings, for all our material faults, and failings if we believe.. Yours etc., H. SERGEANT.
