Manawahe Women’s Institute
The May meeting of the Manawahe Women’s Institute was held in the local hall last Thursday, Mrs Bowden presiding. At the opening of the meeting each mother was presented with a white buttonhole to commemorate “Mother’s Day.” Remits for the forthcoming biennial conference in Wellington, were fully discussed and dealt with. 'A report on the annual Federation meeting held in Whakatane last month was presented by the delegates.
Competitions for the day'were:— Best bloom: Mrs G. Logan 1, Mrs M. Logan 2. Best shrub: Mrs Thompson 1, Mrs Bowden 2.
Something new from something old: Mrs Bowes 1, Mrs Thompson 2.
