Annual Meeting Of Awakeri Women’s Division

At the annual meeting of the Awakeri .Women’s Division of Federated Farmers in the Awakeri Hall Mrs Haultain presided over a fair attendance.

Election of officers: President, Mrs Haultain; secretary, Mrs Wilson; vice-presidents, Mesdames Knight and N. Carter; housekeeping secretary, Mrs Barr; librarian, Mrs Roberts; advisory members, Mesdames Haultain and McKenzie; countrywoman, Mrs Allan; competitions, Mrs McKenzie; sales table, Mrs McGougan; provincial delegates, Mesdames Roberts and Arrol; press correspondent, Mrs Fabish; committee, Mesdames Brizzle, Butler, Cooper, L. Carter, Fabish, Gibbons, Matchett, Rust.

Points prize winners for the year were:—

Best flower, fruit and vegetable: Mrs McKenzie 1, Mrs N. MacDonald and Mrs Barr, equal, 2, Mrs Fabish

... Special competition: Mrs Roberts 1, Mrs C. Wilson and Mrs Matchitt, equal, 2, Mrs H. Jensen 3. Monthly competitions:— Flower: Mrs Fabish 1, Mrs Roberts 2, Mrs L. Carter 3. Fruit: Mrs Matchitt. 1, Mrs , Roberts 2, Mrs Wilson 3. Vegetable: Mrs Matchitt 1, Mrs Cooper 2, Mrs Fabish 3. Heaviest hen eggs: Mrs L. Carter 1, Mrs Matchitt 2. ~ A pair of hand-knitted socks and a cake, kindly donated by Mrs Brizzle, were won by Mrs McKenzie and Mrs N.' E. Wilson.
