Miss B. Leahy, receptionist at the Whakatane Hotel, returned to her home in Gisborne on Wednesday.
Mr J. Mclntyre, Superintendent of Police, Gisborne, was at Whakatane this week on a short business visit.
Mr and Mrs Barry, accompanied by the town clerk, Mr L. D. Lovelock, returned to Whakatane on Wednesday.
' Mr R. Singer, of . the Farmers’ Trading Company, Whakatane, left for Auckland yesterdlay to take up his new position with the firm.
Mr B. S. Barry, Mayor of Whakatane, was elected a member of the executive of the Municipal Association at the conference in Dunedin last week.
