Rowing Club’s Season Closes With Sociable Prize Giving Ceremony

Approximately 100 members, friends and supporters attended the annual prize-giving which marked the conclusion of the Whakatane Rowing Club’s season on Wednesday night. Parlour games, items by Miss Dorothy Stewart, Messrs Geo. Patterson, T. and K. O’Rourke and Masters T. and R. Reid, community singing led by Mr R. King accompanied by Mrs A. Stewart, and dancing to music by Miss Stewart and Messrs L. Broadmore and Geo. Patterson kept the evening going with a swing. The supper was a masterpiece, served with that final touch that only feminine hands can give.

The president, Mr R. T. Morpeth, Mesdames Armstrong and Dines and Messrs B. Norman, C. and S. Armstrong, S. Dent and W. Stewart took part in the presentation of the trophies. Following is the prize-list:—
