BIBLE PROPHECIES INFALLIBLE, SAYS GOSPEL LECTURER
Speaking in the Gospel Tent on Tuesday the night of its opening, Mr C. C. Graham the noted Bible lecturer, answered the question “Can the Present Chaos Continue— What Did Christ Say Would Happen?”
Mr Graham began his talk by stating that the world was i,n a state of chaos today—a fact with which he was certain men of all schools of thoughts would agree. He quoted from H. G. Wells who had recently said, “The world is at the end of its tether. I am convinced there is no way out or around the impasse . . .
it is the end.” Montague Norman, the great financier, had also said that world problems today were too great for him. A London editor had made the observation that “the past 40 years had witnessed the greatest war, famine, pestilence, earthquake, social upheaval, and the most terrible revolution recorded in the annals of men.”
“In view of these statements by such important men could anyone gainsay the fact of a world in chaos?” asked the speaker. Mr Graham then pointed out that Christ had prophesied these very conditions in Matt Ch 24 and Luke 21. The Apostle Paul had also told us the same in 2 Tim 3. Likewise the Peter in 2 Pet. 3. Christ had said that these events would be sigps of His Coming to the air for His Church and of His coming to the earth to reign. In John Ch 14 Christ definitely promised His disciples that He would come again and receive them to His heavenly mansions. True believers were to be found in every country and when Christ came all these, regardless of colour or creed, would be caught up to meet their saviour according to 1 Thess 4. The first Resurrection of believers who had died in Christ would also take place at that time. ‘The dead in Christ shall be raised and we which are alive and remain shall be caught up with them to meet the Lord in the air,” said the Apostle. “Christ had told us that when the signs of His coming were in the world, as they are today, that we were to lift up our heads for our Redemption draweth nigh,” said the speaker. “This is the great hope of the Christian—to see His Lord and to be reunited to our loved ones who had gone on before.” The speaker then showed how •very accurately the Old Testament prophecies which foretold the first advent of Christ had been fulfilled. “Thus you will see,” said Mr Graham, “that the Bible has proved itself to be the infallible word of God and just as every prophecy regarding Christ’s first advent was fulfilled so will all the prophecies regarding His Second Advent be fulfilled. Nothing could be more logical.”
