League Of Mothers Opens Year With Garden Party

A meeting in the form of a garden, party, at the home of Mrs C. A. Suckling recently opened the activities of the Whakatane branch of the League of Mothers this year. Mrs M. J. Metcalfe opened the afternoon by reading the aims and objects of the League. A bring and buy stall run by Mrs Kelly and Mrs Needham did a brisk business all the afternoon. A very pleasant diversion at afternoon teawas the piano accordion recital by r Kevin Lysaght.
