£5 Fine For Theft Of Bicycle Lighting Set
Albert Pukekura, 26, labourer, was fined £5 on Friday when he pleaded guilty in the Police Court at Whakatane to a charge of having stolen a bicycle lamp and generator worth £1 12s from a bach at the Taneatua railway yards. Constable W. R. Thomassen prosecuted and Messrs. C. H. Christensen and S. Shapley, J’s P., were on the Bench. Constable Thomassen explained that Pukekura had been working jf' on the railway and going to the 1 bach for, cups of tea. He had been found with the lighting set, repainted, fitted to his bicycle.' An order was made to have the. set restored to its owner. "
