Polish Wages More Than Doubled Since 1946
Polish real are now more than double what they were in June, 1946. Wages reached double the June 1946 level in September of last year, but subsequent price cuts further increased' real wages. The Polish Cabinet decided in May; 1947, to prohibit increases in prices of goods for mass consumption and of community services. In the last seven months of 1947, the price of wheat flour was cut by 22 per cent., rye bread by 23 per cent., beef by 21 per cent., fabrics by 19.9. per cent., ready-ipa.de clothing and footwear by 4.5 per cent.
