International Sculpture Exhibition

Plans are in hand for an international exhibition of sculpture to be held in Battersea Park, London, during the surpmer months of 1948. The London County Council, in co-operation with the Arts Council of Great Britain, has appointed a committee of experts to select forty of the best available examples of the sculptor’s art for exhibition in the beautiful Thames-side park during the tourist season, from May to September. The exhibition, which will be one of the major art shows in London next year, will contain some of the finest examples of sculpture by artists of .international repute during the past fifty years. In view of the widespread interest aroused by the announcement of the exhibition, it is estimated that it will be seen by some 30,000 visitors. It is intended to make this an annual event.
