Te Teko Middle Distance Runners Perform Well

Running in the New Zealand amateur athletic championships at Dunedin, Ray Dawson, of Te Teko, covered the 880yds in lmin 57sec to gain fifth place in a field of 16 runners. He also ran the 440yds for the Waikato team that won the New Zealand mile medley relay championship. Dawson also figured prominently in the Rotorua Athletic Club’s championship meeting last Saturday, when he won both the mile and the quarter-mile. Second to Dawson in the 440yds was Ivan Franke, also of Te. Teko, who won the 220yds championship.
