Love Of The Land Is Absolute Essential For Success In Farming
“Crowded agricultural colleges and increasing Young Farmers’ Clubs are pointers toward the belief that, although there is a shortage of trained farm personnel at the moment, there are thousands of young men eager to fit themselves in the best way possible to take up farming as a career,” (states tho “G. and N. Co-operator,” Melbourne). “'There is a future in farming for the young men of Australia, and it is a bright future, but it holds promise only for those who see in it something more than a mere job of work that has to be done to provide a means Of existence. Farming successfully calls for the best in a man, and unless there is that desire in a young man, he would be better to seek some other sphere for his endeavours. Only the man who has a true love of the land becomes a successful farmer.
“It has been truly said that education is something that lingers behind when all that has been taught has been and another bright side of the future for young farmers is the strides being made by Young Farmers’ Clubs to educate the future farmers of this country. In their way, these clubs are helping to overcome the shortage of agricultural colleges, but the sooner we are fortunate enough to be able to‘ expand these institutions for scientific training of young men, the greater the attraction farming will have for future generations. “Young farmers of today are indeed fortunate that they now have, and will increasingly have, much scientific knowledge at their disposal.”
