Strand Extension Road: Board Seeks Finality
Having received a letter from the Borough Council to the effect that the proposed Strand Extension road was to be the subject of a report from the Borough foreman-engineer, Mr W. S. Henderson, the Harbour Board appointed a committee consisting of the chairman, Mr Boon, and Messrs. H. G. Warren, H. Brabant and the engineer, Mr C. H. Brebner, to finalise negotiations to have the project .proceeded with. Discussion on the subject revealed that there had been many difficulties, and the chairman said he understood that at one time there had been an objection from the Borough Council, which he thought had never been formally withdrawn, though he now believed the scheme had the Borough’s co-operation.
