Good Progress Made In Allocating State Houses To Ex-Servicemen

During February a further 99 exservicement were Allocated State rental houses under the 50 per cent, alolcation system. This brought the number of tenancies so allocated by the end of that month to 8044. At least half of all newly built or newly vacant State rental houses and flats are set aside for recommended ex-servicemen under the system. Recommendations, are made on the basis of urgency by the Rehabilitation Housing Committee in each centre. The number of houses allocated in the Bay of Plenty-Waikato area during. February was 15, total so far 627.
