Bay Of Plenty Defeats Fijian 11 By 21 Runs (Special to the Beacon) ROTORUA, last night. With 21 minutes of play in hand, the Bay of Plenty cricket representatives defeated the Fijian touring 11 on the Kuirau reserve at Rotorua today by 21 runs in a one innings match. Honours of the day went to Spring amongst the Bay of Plenty batsmen and to E. Wells, who was not only the second scorer, but was responsible for taking most of the tourists’ wickets. The game was played under good conditions and on a fair wicket. The outfield was slow.The bowling for the Bay side was consistently good, and the fielding really excellent. Only two chances, and one of those a remote one in the covers, were missed off W. McKenzie. Whakatane and district players in the Bay team were Spring, W. McKenzie, M. Le Pine and E. Wells.
