Historic Gavel From London Guildhall Ruins
When the Chairman of the N.Z.R.S.A. Dominion Executive calls his meeting to order in future, he will use a gavel fashioned from timber salvaged from the ruins of the Guildhall, London, destroyed by enemy action in 1940. The gavel was made by disabled ex-servicemen at the British Legion Village, Maidstone, England, and has been presented to the N.Z.R.S.A. by Lt. Col. C. G. Larking, National Chairman of the British Legion, v/ho recently visited New Zealand.
