Road Services Truck Badly Damaged By Fire
When one of the New Zealand Road Services transporters stationed at Whakatane caught fire about a mile outside the Borough on the Taneatua road at four o’clock on. Wednesday afternoon, all the- bodywork on the truek was destroyed. The cab and engine, was all the brigade was able to save as the outbreak occurred outside the fire area and the supply of water and extinguishers was insufficient to cope with the blaze. The lorry was carrying no goods at the time. At* present the cause of the fire is unknown.
