Boundaries Alteration
The Commission Will also consider a proposed alteration of the boundaries of the Whakatane and Opotiki Counties by the transfer of an area situated approximately on the western boundary of the Ohiwa Harbour from the Opotiki County to the Whakatane County. , In that regard the Council resolved that Mr Burke and Mr Stewart, as representing the European and Maori petitioners respectively, "be advised of the sitting of the Commission, that in support of the Whakatane Harbour Board's "oiftport" proposals the chairman of the Whakatane Harbour Board be invited to give evidence to the Commission and that the County Solicitor represent the Council at the hearing on April 30.
