Mr E. R. Dillicar returned to Whakatane yesterday after a holiday of three weeks' duration.
Mrs J. Diet, of the office staff of the Whakatane County Council, has resigned and is leaving at the end of April. The Council has accepted the resignation with'regret.
Mr M, W.oodberry has, been; appointed by the Whakatane County Council to replace.Mr R.VC. Leslie as Otakiri Hall agent; the latter having resigned. \
Mr W. Sullivan, M.P., accompanied by Mrs Sullivan, travelled to Australia- by air on Inarch 20. They are expected to return' to Whakatane on April 10. r ■'f'V '" '
Mr R. Salmond, manager of the Te Awamutu branch of the Bank of New Zealand, spent Easter at Ohope Beach, accompanied by his family.
Mr John Ensor, of the Bay of Plenty and East Coast Herd Improvement Association, returns tomorrow from a visit to relatives at Gisborne.
Visitors to the Murupara Fishing Lodge include: Colonel Bagnall (Wellington),' Hislop (Wellington), MacDonald (Levin), Mr and Mrs Wooller (Wellington), Mr and Mrs Hartstone (Hamilton), Mr Carter (Hawera), Booker (Hawera), Dawson (Hamilton).
Miss M. A. Burgess, of. Wellington, has been appointed Promotion Officer by the New Zealand Wool Board. She succeeds Miss- Daphne Staff, of Wellington, Mho % recently resigned to go to a/position in the Netherlands East Indies. On behalf of the employees of the Board, Miss Staff was given a farewell presentation by the secretary, Mr J. Walker.
