United Plays Matamata In The Rain On Sunday: Another Win To United

Although there were numerous stoppages' Of play owing to rain both sides managed to complete an innings in the United-Matamata cricket match on Sunday, United winning by 36 runs. Matamata won the toss and elected to bat. Wickets fell rapidly and at one stage seven wickets were down for .40 runs. However the ball then became very hard to hold and the tail-enders took the score to 110, Hunt top scoring with 24. Spring was soon out when United commenced batting. However Crawford and McKenzie took the score to 69 before Crawford was dismissed for 31. Le Pine joined McKenzie and the pair added another 34 runs before Le Pine, was bowled. After passing Matamata's score McKenzie attempted a big hit and was out for 48. Chamberlain batted well for 17 but the remaining batsmen could only score seven runs between them, the side being all out for 146. Details:—
