Annual Meeting Of Otakiri Young Farmers

The annual general meeting of the Otakiri Y.F.C. was held in the Otakiri Hall recently. After the completion of general business, reports were presented by various representatives who attended the Y.F.C. field days held in the district over the last year. A team for the Y.F.C. debate on March 15 was selected, the debate is to be “Is Hay-bailing Better than Stacking?” When the election of officers was completed the district chairman, Mr J. M. Barr, gave a short address to the club on the value of entering the Y.F.C. porker, competition.- Mr E. R. Marryatt, district secretary, also made a short speech on his opinion of the club’s future and also commended the club on its activities over the last year. The following officers were elected: Messrs. J. Keir, chairman; S. McLean, secretary; F. Fulford, treasurer; J. H. Mullins, press delegate; advisory committee, Messrs. W. J. Murray, B. Barton, J. Caulfield, R. Dunning; honorary members, R. King, M. Leslie, O. G. Lord, G. Mullins and A. Gilbert.
