Thornton Red Cross
The annual meeting of the Thornton Sub-Centre of the Red Cross Society was held on Thursday. The president gave an account of the activities of members during the past year. The list of sewing comprised 62 garments made from Red Cross materials and 47 old garments given and collected by members. Also 21 bars of soap were collected. Mrs Gardner was re-elected president, Mrs J. Branch vice-president, Mrs C. T. Smith secretary and Mesdames Checkley, Ducker, McDonald, Mexted, Sheat, Robb, Watts and Patton, committee.
