Mr C. G. Caisley,. of Hillcrest, Whakatane, is at present on holiday in Auckland.- He is expected to return in a fortnight’s time., .
Mr E. K. Tomlinson of the Whakatane branch 'of the Union Bank of Australia, left on his annual holiday today. He is spending his holidays on an extended tour of the North Island.
Guests at the Fishing Lodge: Mr J. W. Randolph (Cincinnati, Ohip), Mr and Mrs C. Pollard (Auckland), Mr Rhodes (Hamilton), Mr Roach (Papatoetoe), Mr Hayden (Rotorua) and Mr Clark (Rotorua). Miss A. Watson, infant mistress at Ohope, has been transferred to Clevedon, Mr Walker is replacing her. Miss J. Seebeck and Mr A.Holmes, probationary teachers from the Training College are assisting at the Whakatane Infant School. Mr T. Loaney and Mr R. Adams are new teachers at the High School. Mr K. E. Francis, district Government ranger, at present in Whakatane on short leave, has, for the past five weeks been engaged in special duties at Taupo in an advisory capacity to the Taupo Water Commission. He returned today for a further period of several weeks. It is understood a relieving ranger is in charge of the district meanwhile.
