Rangitaiki Defence Rifle Club Reports Successful Year At Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the Rangitaiki Defence Rifle Club was held in the Rangitaiki Dairy Co. Mess Room an Tuesday,. February 17. President Burgess occupied the chair. The meeting was well attended. In his report the preside! stated that the past season had been a most successful one. Owing k> most of the members being without aperture sights, however, the shooting had been confined to practice shoots. However as the shortage of sights is now being overcome the club is about to commence handicap trophy shooting. It was' decided to carry on as usual with regard to handicapping and conditions of. trophy shooting, the old system having proved successful in pre-war years. The new Bisley targets came up for discussion. The N.R.A. has adopted the 5inch bull at 500 yards, 7 \ inch at 300 | yards and 15 inch at 500 yards and 600 yards. The meeting decided to j adopt the latest N.R.A. targets, j Election of officers: Patron, Mr lan j Gow; president, Mr R. Burgess;, hon. secretary, Mr W. Moore; deputy j presidents, Messrs.
