Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, has a job at the Operations Division of the Admiralty. He has a desk in a 45ft. long room shared, by three commanders.

Back to office late, but no one worries if he has exceeded the fortyfive minutes’ official luncheon break. Day’s work ends at 5.30 p.m. week days, mid-day Saturdays. Later he may be called on to do a night shift. Apart from his Parliamentary grant, Philip receives £ls a week Admiralty salary—daily pay of £1 4s, daily allowances of 12s 6d as a married man, 3s 2d for rations, 3s 6d for extra cost of living in London.
