Ex-Servicemen With Rehabilitation Problems

Ex-servicemen with -rehabilitation problems which appear to call for advice should in the first instance see their local rehabilitation office. This reminder is given by the Minister of Rehabilitation, the Hon. C. F. Skinner, who adds that it applies equally to ex-servicemen who have received rehabilitation assistance and have subsequently run into post-settlement difficulties.

The administration of financial assistance already granted was in the hands of the Board’s agency concerned—either the State Advances Corporation or the Maori Affairs Department as the case might be. Ex-servicemen should continue to deal direct with those agencies, but should seek advice from their rehabilitation officer where they felt they had any special problem 01 difficulty which they were unable to settle through normal channels. “The Rehabilitation Department is interested in the rehabilitation of all ex-servicemen and wishes to ensure that ex-servicemen are permanently settled,” saicl Mr Skinner. “It will do everything practicable to assist towards that end.”
