Collins Shield Cricket: P. & T. Rangers’ Outright Victory Over Te Teko
The final cricket match for the Collins Shield was played at the week-end between Te Teko and P. and T. Rangers, resulting in an outright win for Rangers. Te Teko won the toss and elected to bat, but apart from a stubborn stand by Griffiths the rest failed and were all out for 56, Malaquin and Burt doing the damage. \ P. and T. Rangers started badly, but a good partnership by Burt and Gillam took the score into the fifties. From then on the rot set in and P. and T. Rangers were all out for 77 runs. Te Teko went to the wickets a second time and were all out for 50 runs, leaving Rangers 29 runs for an outright win which they made for the loss of one wicket.
