Surf Club Accepts. Team Manager’s Resignation

At' a general meeting’ at Ohope last night the Whakatane Surf LifeSaving Club accepted the resignation of Mr G. Stenhouse from the managership of the team for the Mt. Maunganui surf carnivalon Bunday, February 1. Mr A. R. Knights was appointed to take his place, with Mr Wilson as deputy. Mr Stenhouse’s resignation, which arose out of a disagreement concerning training of the men’s team, was the subject of a long and at times tense discussion in committee. Final arrangements in connection with the trip were made, and teams are to assemble at the Valley road bridge on Saturday, January 31, for transport by car. As tent. billeting, has been arranged, they will need': tw© blankets each.
