Farewell Dance For Popular Nukuhou Family

There was a large gathering at the Nukuhou school last Friday night, to farewell Mr and Mrs Lionel McDonald. "~ Mr and Mrs M. King supplied the music, with extras by M. Burke and A. Bell, Mr John McLean acting as M.C. Confetti apd monte carlo dances were the highlights of the programme. After supper Mr T. Doran, in a neat speech on behalf of all present, asked Mr and Iflrs McDonald to accept a teaset, with which went the best wishes of all and every hope of success on their new farm at Te Puke. Miss Z. White also presented Mrs McDonald with a bouquet of sweet peas. , Mr McDonald suitably replied, thanking all for the gift and . the evening given them. He added that he was sorry to leave the district, but had no choice as a it was impossible to obtain a farm in the area. Miss V. Woods has been transferred from the Native . Department, Whakatane, to the Ravensthorpe Hospital. Mr and Mrs H. ‘ G. Warren have returned from their holiday trip down the East Coast.
