Infantile Paralysis
Churches And Motor Camps Partly Closed By order of the Medical Officer of Health for the East Cape: District, Dr. T, C. Lome, all Churches throughout the district are closed to* children under 16? years of age,, and a similar bare applies to motor camps- until further notice, with the proviso that the prohibition does nofcaprply to persons of any age who were resident in motor camps on December 15.
There are still no cases of infantile paralysis reported in this district and, for the first time for many days, there were, no new cases reported at Auckland on Wednesday, though two more suspects were diagnosed as positive. The Whangarei Borough Council has decided to wire the Minister of Health urging the imposition of a travel ban between Auckland and the Northland. In view"- of the fact that Auckland seems to. have been the centre of opinion has been freely expressed here that a similar step might have been taken, in this district. It does suggest itself as a wise precaution in the circumstances.
