“Tragic Situation” In United Kingdom
Mr W. N. Perry, Dominion President of Federated Farmers, travelled widely throughout Britain on his recent visit and saw something of the tragic situation which besets the Mother Country. “I have returned to New Zealand determined to help Britain in every way possible,” he said. “I am prepared to help in saving dollars and to do all I can to increase production from my own farm. “During the war years we farmers were asked to produce more and more. We did our best to meet that call. “We are now increasing our production to a maximum but we farmers are not omnipotent. We will help Britain and the other sections of the community must help us to help Britain. “We are all in it together. If one link of the chain of production breaks our efforts are doomed to failure.”
