Whakatane Rowing Club Fortnightly Trial Fours

Heavy seas marred the Rowing Club Trial Fours held recently, but races were held despite the adverse conditions. There was a good muster of rowers and although the rowing was not, of a high class under the circumstances, the contestants gained some valuable experience of rowing in really rough water. Results follow:

First Heat: P. Armstrong, E. Hunt, J. Hudson, A. Atkinson (R,., Reid cox) beat R. King, M. Nicol, EMoore, P. Bowering (Windley cox) by 1-h lengths. Second Heat: H. Armstrong, S. Shapley, W. Stuart, W. Sandham (T. Reid cox) beat D. Debreceny, L. Stewart, J. Turpin, M. Whittaker (Delahunty cox) by h length. 1 ■■ Final: Armstrong, Hunt, Hudson, Atkinson (Windley cox) beat H. Armstrong, Shapley, Stuart, Sandham (R. Reid cox) by h length.
