Electricians’ Institute’s Whakatane Branch Holds Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Whakatane Branch of the N.Z. Institute of Electricians Inc. elected the following officers:—Patron, Mr J. D. Dicker; president, Mr R. Combes; vice-president, Mr V. Hoskins; past president, Mr F. W. Lysaght; secretary and treaurer, Mr H. L. Drube; committee, Messrs D. J. Scragg, R. Oxenham, R. Burgess, T. Hurndell, J. Ditchfield; delegates to centre, Messrs H. L. Drube and V. Hoskins; instructor to apprentices, Mr R. Oxenham; publicity officer, Mr J. Ditchfield.

The meeting expressed its appreciation to Mr I. B. Hubbard and the school staff for their great help during the year, and to the Institute and its instructor in running the apprentices night classes. Following were the winners in the competition run by the branch: Fancy fitting, No. 632, J. Soi’enson, Tunncliffe’s Mill; electric iron, 933, P. Braae, Opotiki; reading lamp, 360, N. Matthews; toaster, 768, L. A. Brown, Francis Street; jug, 116, R. Oxenham; lamps, 34, W. Farrelly; Immersion heater, 54, Wish Winn.
