Clothing Rationing Finished Yesterday
On Saturday, the Minister of Supply, Hon. A. H. Normeyer, anounced the discontinuance of clothing rationing, to take effect yesterday. The Minister said that consideration of the clothing position indicated that the prospects for 1948 were reasonably good, and under the circumstances it was felt that no good purpose would be served by continuing Jhe rationing system. This was particularly so in view of the fact that the basis of clothing rationing in New Zealand had always been on a very generous scale.
