£6O Collected For Galatea Swimming Pool

Recently the Galatea School Committee rah a very successful Paddy’s Market in the school ground. One stall was filled with children’s clothing which had been made by Mrs Neilson, Mrs Caie and Mrs Yager. It was of excellent quality and sold very readily. Luncheon and soft drinks were available and in big demand. A dart board collected several pounds in a few minutes ’While the ladies tried their skill at throwing pegs into a peg bag. In the evening a large crowd attended a dance held in the school room. As a result of the day’s efforts over £6O was placed in the swimming pool fund.
