Black Market Cars
Although an effort had been made by the motor trade to combat the prevalance of black market dealing, by the introduction of a system whereby the buyer was required to give a guarantee not to resell within 12 months, black marketing within the trade was still rife, said a Wellington car dealer. In Wellington itself black marketing was on a much larger and better organised scale than most other centres, he said. The dealers were not at fault, it was the public.
