Miss M. Buchanan, Waipukurau is at present the guest of Mrs J. C J. Wilson, at the Vicarage.
Mr E. T. Brown, who has been acting-secretary since the death of Mr G. W. Hutchison last February, was appointed secretary of the Automobile Association (Auckland) at a meeting of the association’s council last week.
Miss V. Carter, who has been secretary cf the Ladies’ Golf Club for the past five years, has resigned, and the annual meeting recently, accepting the resignation with regret, minuted appreciation of her capable and willing work for the club.
At the November meeting of the Pongakawa Rabbit Board, the chairman and members expressed appreciation of the able work done by the retiring board member, Mr A. H. Jamieson, Te Teko, during his term of three years service on the Board, particular reference being made to the keen interest he had taken in all Board matters, to the assistance he had given the secretary in the collection of rates and to his regular attendance at meetings and the interest he had taken in all activities effecting his own district. It was resolved to place this on record.
