At the Awakeri Young Farmers’ Club’s November meeting in the Awakeri Hall" the good muster of iyom . W - ■■ - - b r whole evening to business. First came a lively discussion on arrangements and decisions in regard to a Xmas Eve dance in the Winter Show Buildings. Tentative arrangements were also made for a dance in the Awakeri Hall on the 22nd of this month. A Xmas hamper committee \ was elected with Mr Bob Brown as ' convenor. •The club’s monthly field day was .held at Mr J. A. Cannell’s property, Te Toko, on November C. Members were shown the machinery that Mr Cannell uses in his cropping activities and a keen interest was shown *' in ike inter-row cvltivr.tov for donning between plants, and the onion pulling machine. The effect of the weed killing spray for use on carrot crops was also shown. Before leaving, Mr and Mrs Cannell entertained members at afternoon tea, after which they enjoyed • themselves playing bowls and putting on the lawn. The hospitality extended to the club was very great.ly appreciated. A vote of thanks carried by acclamation brought the very interesting outing to a close.
