Monthly Meeting Of Awakeri Women’s Division

There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Awakeri Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Mrs Haultain presided. During the afternoon, Mr Anderson brought along some of his pupils from the Awakeri school who sang several very pleasing songs. Also three very youthful pupils, made their first public speech, each speaker receiving an enthusiastic hearing.

A cushion donated by Mrs Fabish was won by J. Schooner, Te Teko. Competition winners were: Flowers, Mrs Wilson 1, Mrs N. MacDonald 2, Mrs Graham 3; fruit, Mrs McGougan 1, Mrs N. Carter 2, Mrs Allan 3; vegetable, Mrs N. MacDonald 1, Mrs McGougan 2, Mrs L. Carter 3.
