Apprenticeship Revival Scheme Claimed Success

One of the most pleasing features of the occupational and trade training schemes developed by the Rehabilitation Board—the success attending the provisions made for the reviving of pre-war apprenticeships, was commented on by the Board member in charge of trade training, Mr S. W. Gaspar, at the last meeting of the Rehabilitation Council.

It was his opinion that had it not been for this scheme less than 25 per cent, of the almost 4000 apprentices assisted would have returned to their trades—particularly since a large proportion of them were married men. Under the scheme they had been enabled to continue their occupations without suffering monetary loss as a result of their service in the forces.
