Motor Tyres May Be Produced In New Zealand
Production of motor tyres in New Zealand should be commenced next year, according to Mr G. C. W. Reid, managing director of Reid New Zealand Rubber Mills, Ltd., who has returned from a visit to England and America. <3
There was still a difficulty in obtaining plant and raw materials, said Mr Reid, but he had been able to ensure that production of tyres in the Penrose factory of his company would not be held up through lack of raw materials. As far as deliveries of plant were concerned, they were being pushed ahead, but the problem of buildings still remained because of the shortage of labour.
