Gala Day In Aid Of The Taneatua War Memorial

Given a fine day the Taneatua Gala Day promoted by -the War Memorial Committee, promises to be one of the district’s highlights and everyone knows the good reputation Taneatua has for organising any function.

The fact that the Gala Day Lad to be postponed on Labour Day on account of the wet state of the ground, does not mean that any of the original programme will have 'to be abandoned. On the contrary, if anything, there will be a bigger and brighter programme than ever. * The Bay of Plenty 7-aside Primary School Football matches should attract all lovers of the game. Twenty teams have entered from all parts of the Bay. The Basketball matches are also attracting teams from far and near. In the athletic section a good programme has been drawn up and competition is keen amongst some of the prospective contestants both grown up and children. ' A women’s committee has . the catering in hand and patrons can procure a sit-down lunch or counterlunch as well as afternoon tea and soft drinks.

All primary school children are to be admitted to the ground free. P.B.A.
