FANCY DRESS BALL

OTAKIRI SCHOOL FUNCTION EVENT OF SCHOOL YEAR The School Ball again turned out to be the most popular event of the school year. The programme of folk dances and ballroom dances prepared by the staff was carried through without a hitch. Mrs A. V. Gilbert and Mrs A. Armstrong provided the music and at 10 p.m. supper was provided by the committeemen and their wives. The judges for costumes were Mr and Mrs W. Green who had a difficult task placing the winners. Junior prizes were won by Claire Wallen, Fay Trumper, Bruce Ewan, The Ranson Twins and Mark Briggs. Senior prize winners were: Shona Lord, Helen O’Rourke, Ross Blair and Kerr Aird.
